In Loving Memory of Douwe Nutterts (1958–2025)

Douwe Nutterts devoted his life to the rich interplay between psychotherapy and the transpersonal approach. As a pioneer in the field, he developed a psycho-spiritual method that bridged Eastern and Western traditions — a heartfelt integration of psychological insight and spiritual wisdom.

Trained in various therapeutic modalities grounded in humanistic psychology, Douwe was much more than a practitioner. He was a lifelong seeker, deeply engaged in meditative and spiritual traditions. His journey took him through many Buddhist schools and Being-oriented teachings. He drew inspiration from the Essence work of Almaas and Faisal Muqaddam, and from the quantum psychology of Stephen Wolinsky.

To all who knew him, Douwe was not only a guide but also a companion — someone who walked beside others with humility and deep presence. His words reflect the spirit he lived by:

“I love exploring and discovering. I love wonder, being moved, and being impressed. I am a seeker, but also a finder. I am passionate about my own process and the processes of others. It is a great honor and joy to journey together with others. I’m not looking for solutions for you — I believe everyone has their own solution. However, I do want to sit with you and deeply listen to what is alive within you.”

Douwe leaves behind not only a legacy of healing and insight but also a profound invitation — to be present, to listen deeply, and to walk the path of inner truth together.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
